Complete this form if you consent to give your support to a joint application between yourself and your employer to extend a temporary layoff through a variance to the Employment Standards Act.
It's called a variance because you're asking the Employment Standards Branch to vary part of the Act. It allows for work situations that don't strictly meet the standards but still follow their intent, such as an extension to a temporary layoff.
Remember, if you've been laid off due to COVID-19, you have options.
Contact the Employment Standards Branch for questions about temporary layoffs.
